The Equines are the most peaceful of all the kingdoms, and have the most intellect as a group. However, they don't do very well in battle since they are, after all, herbivores.
In the Equine's kingdom, there is always one individual who leads the society. Horses are generally seen as the most common species, and they are usually appointed over the other species. Unlike the other societies, the Equines do not favor one coat color over another, and leaders are chosen based on character. As previously mentioned, Equines have one main leader. This leader hand-selects a deputy. If the leader dies or steps down, the deputy is appointed leader, and they chose a deputy for themselves. The deputy has almost all the authority that the leader does, but in the event of a disagreement, the leader's words always win.
Zebras are the next highest ranking. Like horses, they are a common part of the middle-class. But where horses tend to be more laid-back, Zebras are feisty and active. Because of this, Zebras make up the majority of the Equine army. They also have an advantage against the other kingdoms, since a massive herd of Zebras is highly confusing.
Donkeys are below Zebras in ranking. They aren't as common, but usually serve as middle-class civilians as well. Because of their hardiness, Donkeys are generally used as messengers. On occasion, they are used as servants.
Mules are the lowest ranking of Equine. Because of their brute strength and stamina, they are used often in labor, and occasionally as messengers. Sometimes they will be placed on the front lines in battle, since they are rather brutish, but most of the time, Mules serve as servants. When a mule reaches one year of age (yearling), then are expected to begin work as a servant.
