Alright, so having your characters give birth isn't really the same as creating a new character.

√ - You can choose the baby's name
√ - The baby will have it's own account
√ - The baby will have it's own profile
√ - The baby will need to be roleplayed with
√ - The baby (or one of the parents) will need to post in activity checks


X - You can't choose the baby's gender
X - You need to purchase "Dropseeds" or "Dropseed Bouquets" to have a baby
X - If you purchase a "Dropseed Bouquet", you cannot chose how many babies are in the litter

√ - The baby will have it's own account

Babies are, essentially, new characters. This means that for each new baby, there should be a new account with the baby's name and information. It is advised that the parents are both aware of the password so that either one can log on and roleplay as the baby. If you choose to let one person roleplay the baby (and not share this ability), then the password's confidentiality is up to you.

√ - The baby will have it's own profile

If you have Dropseeds/Dropseed Bouquets (read on to learn about them), then you can get a baby application from this board and fill it out. Baby profiles go on THIS board, NOT the one for normal character applications.

√ - The baby will need to be roleplayed with
√ - The baby (or one of the parents) will need to post in activity checks

If the baby is not active, it will be deleted. Deleted babies do not come with refunds. What does this mean? It means that neither of the parents will have their Dropseeds/Dropseed Bouquets returned to them--they will have lost them along with the baby.

In activity checks, either the baby should post on it's account, or one of the parents should post for the baby. Babies that are not included in activity checks will be deleted.

X - You can't choose the baby's gender

You can't chose a baby's gender in real life, so no, you can't choose it's gender here. Gender will be determined randomly by staff.

X - You need to purchase "Dropseeds" or "Dropseed Bouquets" to have a baby
X - If you purchase a "Dropseed Bouquet", you cannot chose how many babies are in the litter

Dropseeds are magical, rare little berries that help create offspring. In order for a baby to be born, both the father and the mother must possess at least one Dropseed. When you post a baby application, staff will check to make sure you have the necessary Dropseeds, and then mark them as "used" in your item thread. Dropseeds can be purchased year-round in the Rarity Shoppe.

Dropseed Bouquets are bushels of Dropseeds, which help to create numerous offspring. The same system applies as above for using these. When they have been used, staff will inform you of how many babies you are going to have (staff will randomly select a number). This varies with the species. For instance, a Canine may produce five pups with a Dropseed Bouquet, and an Equine might only produce two. Keep in mind that Equines don't have litters, and litter sizes vary between species. Dropseed Bouquets can be purchased year-round in the Rarity Shoppe.

X - You cannot choose the baby's raw personality

Now don't be alarmed; you'll still get to describe the baby's personality, and add a few things. However, this will be done by staff providing you with three words about the baby's personality, and you can then branch off of them. Staff will go about this realistically; two submissive, quiet parents would more than likely produce a shy, quiet offspring. Of course there are exceptions, but staff will make it as realistic as possible.

X - You cannot choose the baby's raw appearance

This goes hand-in-hand with the above. Basic appearance will be determined by staff, with the parent's appearance in mind. You can, of course, branch off of this.
