"I have no mate. No family..."

Axel looked up; he hadn't expected her to say something like that. If he was honest with himself, he thought the wolf was running away because of something someone said. Something stupid like that, anyways. He immediately regretted those thoughts--good thing he hadn't said that, because he was completely wrong. But then what was she running away from? Axel couldn't imagine what the problem could be. Pawing the ground, he became anxious to speak--only to have Reagal start taking again, in a quiet voice.

".... I have no one to miss me."

Axel looked away, not wanting his guilt to show. Why did he even feel guilty? He hadn't done anything, except express a personal opinion. And he hadn't even spoken. It was probably, he thought, because he didn't have a family either. Axel didn't know whether hers was dead or missing like his, but he...he felt a connection, he supposed. They were alike in that way, but he was sure they couldn't be more different.

It felt like ages before Axel spoke, but in reality it was just off by a couple seconds. "That is something we have in common." He told her. "If I may ask, what happened to your family?"
