Canines. Those were supposed to be his enemies. He knew it, these creatures could not be trusted; the cat thought to himself. There was little room in his mind that the could trust the canines; with the exception of Midori. Linkk found comfort with this canine and oddly enough called it his friend. It was so uncommon, Linkk did not remember the last time he had heard of a canine and feline friendship; it was not possible. Perhaps once the childhood innocence that covered this cat melted away; things would change.
There was no doubt that this cat was in a world completely different to his own; everything was different, the sights, the smells; he could only hope for help or anything close to a miracle. Midori was his guide, his angel. There was little room for a miracle in this kind of world, but maybe just maybe; if he wished real hard, there would be a miracle and he would be safe. Every moment that this feline spent in this castle; he was risking his life; if he could he would run for cover and hide there until all the canines were gone. The idea of running away was so present in his mind, and yet; that all faded when his friend Midori found herself close to him. Her voice melted his troubles, and he found peace. "Why am I here?" Linkk tilted his head to the side, looking at Midori with a soft pur. The cat felt a sudden impulse of individualism, he was spacial; or at least, that was what he thought. This little warrior was indeed a brave soul; and he kept telling himself that. Even though his own stupidity landed himself here in the first place; he was surprised he had made it this far, perhaps this cat did have some luck in him. ["Am I going to, die..?" Linkk was smart to ask that question; he had heard stories of what happened to captured felines, and did not want to be in any of those stories himself.

Midori licked Linkk's head softly and sighed. She didn't want to lie to the kit but the truth wasn't all that comforting. In the time that she had been around only members of the enemy forces had been brought to the castle. There they had been paraded before the king, dragged through the streets to have the population taunt the captive, and then killed in some unimaginably horrible way. Then again the Queen hadn't been in charge then so there was always a chance that nothing bad would happen to Linkk. Midori mentally scolded herself as reality hit her. The ocelot was not a canine and therefore the common thought was that he expendable and better off skinned and hanging on one of the castle walls or lining the floors. Well that was what happened to the lucky ones anyways. Many urban legends told of the past things that had been done to both equines and felines that had put even a tuff of fur into these lands. Midori wrestled for a few quiet moments as she tried to figure out what to say. Was it better to lie to save the kit from worrying or tell the truth so the young one would be prepared?
"I will not let anyone hurt you, even if that means my own death Linkk. You are safe with me." That was the truth as far as the coyote saw it. Not that she had a real chance against the Queen, King, or even one of the warriors but she would go out fighting if she needed to. Watching over Linkk gave her a purpose, something to strive for and to wake up for every morning, and she had already pledged herself to go through with whatever needed to be done.
"I don't know why you are here but it must be have to do with something the Queen is planning. Otherwise she would have just tossed you somewhere less pleasant." Again she was being truthful though she probably could have sugar coated things a bit better.

The young kitten looked at the 'yote with large eyes. Linkk was always a good listener, he had to be where he came from. If someone did not listen they way they were supposed to, it meant getting a punishment. There was also a reason to listen as well, he was in a strange world that his own. Maybe the world was, maybe it wasn't. The land that held the canines, equines and felines was filled with all kinds of species...didn't the land belong to everyone? If all called this land their home, why couldn't they all come together? It was a large thought for a small kitten, and it was casted back to the back of his mind. The kitten needed a bath, he had needed one for a while; but had not had the time. Linkk would often try to keep himself looking nice by himself so he looked more appealing, but did not own the more experienced cleaning skills mothers had. No one could clean a kit like a mother could; it was a special skill they posed. Linkk listened, he listened as the voice of Midori went through his ears. She was sweet, a mother figure to the feline. He knew it was wrong, but he didn't care; for he was a young one in need of a mother. Where ever he could find one, he would get one. Midori's words were filled with care, and what felt like love as well. She would not let anyone hurt him, it was something that Linkk was not used to. Those words were nothing that he had recognized before in his life. He would die to protect his siblings, but never before had someone told himself that. "You...really mean that?" Linkk said with warm eyes. He felt a general compassion and love towards the 'yote. There was a connection between the two. yes, Linkk would grow up to become an adult ocelot with the burning hatred for the other species-that is, if he made it back to his own kingdom-. If Linkk found his way home again, he would most likely be swept clean of these memories, and made into a slave like the rest of his kind. hatred for both canines and felines would grow into him as he would begin to hate the rest of his life; but that was then, and this was now. "I don't like it here..it smells...funny." Linkk commented, his sensitive pink nose made his senses go wild. All the different sights, sounds, and scents put him on edge, and luckily for him; Midori was there to make everything better -for now-

Banshee trotted briskly down the halls, his scruff bristling. He smelled a feline. He smelled a feline.
Breaking into a lope, he moved swiftly down the hall, and towards the queen's chamber. He really hoped there was a reasonable explanation for this. Of course he'd tell Zion. Zion needed to know. His tail raised anxiously a little, and his ears stiffened.
Breaking into the queen's chamber, he noticed a few things instantly. First, the queen herself was absent. Second, there was a coyote speaking kindly to a scruffy little feline beast. Bruxing loudly, Banshee leapt up onto a small table, whiskers trembling with barely contained fury.
"Midori. What is that cat doing here?" He bruxed, flattening his ears a little.
