Underoath
The Hills. It had always been a favoured place of his, mostly because he was able to simple elax up here, where the wind tusseled is locks like an old friend. As The Holy it was up to him to advise his Lord on what Oath liked to call 'The Proper Path'. In this world there were many ways to taint the soul, but above all it was greed that blackened the heart. Of the three Kingdoms the horses were the onl ones who wished to simply be acknowladged as significant beings, the meat-eaters, they sought to ultimately reign, to destroy what should stand beside them as equals- no less. Unfotunately that wasn't good enough, and soon Oath could sense that war would be upon them. For the last while things had been tranquil, but the greed of their neighbors threatened to upset that balance. In all there was not a thought more troubling than war- Oath could not stand the suffering of anyone, regardless of species, and the thought of what the children would go through...He had to shake his head to rid himself of the thoughts. As a being connected to the very earth beneath their feet he could sense the emotions of others, and so when someone cried out, no matter what species they may be, Oath could sense their pained Aura, and it pained him too. Peace was all he wanted..
With a soft snort the handsome grullo horse lifted his head high to be embraced by the wind. As far as the eye could see in each direction loomed hills of emerald- lush pastures that he knew were meant for everyone- not just the horses. In his heart he couldn't understand the justice in claiming a land- the world belonged to nobody, and by craving control over it you ultimatel poisoned yourself. No,it should be free for all to walk or run upon, but this was the way things were now, and he fretted they might never be undone."What is the world coming to?" he asked with a sigh, his words directed at nobody in particular. Oath knew the truth about the world and how it worked. The 'Gods' that the other species praised were not what they appeared to be at all. Everything died, and depending on the life they lead, were reborn as something else. Wen one reached the last plane of existance, they became the 'Gods' these others worshiped. Truly though, they were mortals just like them who had accomplished the ultimate- they had become one with the universe. Oath hoped to accomplish this one day, but he knew he still had a ways to go- only when he was able to give up everything would he find the Final Plane, he just wasn't read yet.
Clearing his mind the 17 hand bronc breathed in deep, pushing out all the negativity while doing so. These hills were a place of purity for him, a place were suffering could not happen. This sanctuary, however, was as fake as everything else though, because Suffering avoided nothing. In existance to suffer was the only purpose, and through it one would eventually find peace. Enduring was all there was to do, and so far Oath had done a lot of it.
