Here at Mulvane High School, located in Mulvane, Kansas, you might want to watch your back. Mulvane is a small town, with a small school, and if you happen to have any major story about you, it'll spread faster before you can even tell your best friend about it. Say you break your leg - by the time it's the next day, at school there will be rumors that you went into a coma, or that you're going to die. Hell, maybe that you had to get a blood transfusion. Say that you think a girl is pretty? For girls, you'll have rumors spread about you being a lesbian faster than you can stop them. For guys? People will start saying you're sleeping with her, and that you're a cheap manwhore that does drugs.
Be careful what you say to others.
Rumors spread like wildfires here, and if you happen to be the subject, expect to go through hell about it until your graduating day. Possibly even your dying day. People may stop talking, of course, but that doesn't mean anything here. Every rumor is remembered, and can be used against you in the worst way.
Pick your friends carefully and keep them close - and avoid saying anything to and seeing your enemies, before your life becomes hell.
